Steve S Wow, this is a fantastic album!! Totally took me by surprise. Dunno what to say - my best description is its absolutely beautiful. Super tight band the vocals/harmonies are really exceptional - goosebumps and all. Great drumming - fits perfect. Cannot stop listening, great job Jordan and the entire band, thank you for this. All the best Favorite track: Footstep in the Snow.

Dream Theater keyboardist Jordan Rudess is no stranger to experimentation, known for leading the charge in pushing creative, sonic, and technological boundaries. Featuring Jordan alongside Darby Todd (Devin Townsend) on drums, That Joe Payne on vocals, Steve Dadaian on guitar, and Bastian Martinez on guest guitar solos, this time, Rudess assembled a core group of musicians to support and elevate his vision.

‘Permission to Fly’ is a diverse collection – ranging from elaborate prog compositions to sweeping ballads. The songs explore diverse themes – from everyday human struggles to supernatural phenomena. Each song is a standalone journey, but collectively, the album unveils a musical odyssey through the vast spectrum of the human experience.
